Hochatown is a small town in southeast Oklahoma that's known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreation. The area is home to Beavers Bend State Park, which offers hiking, camping, fishing, and boating opportunities. 

Within Beavers Bend State Park is Broken Bow Lake, a lake admired by people for its clean, clear water and natural beauty! Broken Bow Lake is fed by the Mountain Fork River which is a favorite among hikers, kayakers, and fly fishermen. 

The park is home to many native animals like beavers, deer, and bald eagles. 

Hochatown is also home to many great wineries, restaurants, and shops. Hochatown is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and experience some of Oklahoma's natural beauty.

Beavers Bend State Park has trails for hikers of all levels and interests. The Friends Trail Loop is one of the newest trails. It is a 1.5-mile loop that is considered moderate level. It is popular for hiking and running. No matter your fitness level or goals, there is a trail for everyone.

  • Skyline Trail: 9.5 miles
  • Lookout Mountain Loop: 2.9 miles
  • Tree Trail: 1.2 miles
  • Cedar Bluff Nature Trail: 0.9 miles
  • Lakeview Lodge Trail: 3.5 miles
  • Beaver Lodge Nature Trail: 3 miles
  • Deer Crossing Trail: 3.9 miles

Horseback Riding

 

 

What better way to explore the National Park than by horseback? You can make a reservation for horseback riding with companies such as Riverman Trail Rides. They offer one-hour, two hours, or day trips. This is a popular activity so just be sure to make reservations. Explore the foothills of the mountains as you follow trails that will take you through the forest. Added bonus, horseback riding can burn up to 200 calories an hour.

 

Play a Round of Golf

 

 

Cedar Creek Golf Course at Beavers Bend is one of the most beautiful courses in the state. It is a public golf course on the shores of Broken Bow Lake, about nine miles north of the city of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. 

The course has eighteen holes with a par of 72 and offers bent grass greens, Bermuda grass tees and fairways, a putting green, a driving range, and a pro shop with cart and club rentals. The course is surrounded by pine forests and deep blue water.
